Words of Wisdom: Constructing the Future
The architecture and construction professions have a million metaphors for creating the dream of the future we aspire to. Build, construct, “draw up”, lay the foundation, etc. There’s tons of them. Here’s the thing: The metaphors mean little to nothing if you aren’t actively acting on them.
Too frequently we forget that we have to awaken from our daydreams of what the future may hold to actually hustle towards achieving them. Too frequently we forget out of fear, or laziness, that we’re building that future in every present moment. Every action or inaction now adds up to our future. The macro idea may seem daunting, but we still eat an elephant one bite at a time.
