Wooden Half Model

Hand carved pine and mahogany half model of the Friendship Sloop. The Friendship Sloop is a design from Maine, that started in the 1880’s as a fishing and lobstering boat. It is a gaff-rigged sloop, which varied from 21′ to 50′ in length. The Half Model is mounted on a solid piece of mahogany with a danish oil finish, while the model itself has a glossy polyurethane finish. Hand painted lettering details the size of this specific boat. Model was carved from actual hull drawing lines.
