Inspiration #21

Time to prepare your singing voice, it’s time to look at some fantastic showers for this week’s #ThisOldHouse inspiration. Open shower here, gorgeous marble there, we’re covering all the squeaky clean bases.

This is the latest in a weekly post of residential architecture inspiration. If you want to see past weeks, you can go here. If you want to see them curated on my pinterest (sometimes before they even hit the blog), go here.

This open shower is on a raised platform [check], separated by glass [check], drains from a trough [check], and is floor to ceiling marble [check, check, check]. Pinch me, I think I’m dreaming.

This open shower is taking a bit of an industrial turn with its rectangles and hard lines, but I bet that rainfall ceiling fixture is divine. Anyone else notice that floating shelf on the first pass? It blends right in.

Mismatched tiles and minimal fixtures in this open shower give it a traditional sense among the modernity. I’d love to see the shelf in use, but the lack of it has me wondering if it’s too narrow to be functional.

There’s something so clean and calm about this open shower and its lack of fixtures, nozzles, and do-hickeys. I bet it’s beyond refreshing to get read in this bathroom every morning.

Three tile types in this open shower area but it doesn’t feel forced. And on second look, it’s not open…that’s some fantastic hardware holding that glass door up.

The 3D tile in this open shower always looks fantastic when I see it used…and then I remember they probably paid someone lots of monies to scrub every horizontal surface free of grime before this picture was taken. Ain’t nobody got time in their morning prep for that. Other than that, it’s drop dead gorgeous.
