Inspiration #19

This week’s inspiration shifts focus back to the kitchen. I started both a Blue Apron and a Plated subscription this summer (I cancel whichever meal set looks less tasty for the week) and have really enjoyed taking time to cook healthy foods, but it has me dreaming about bright kitchens and a better kitchen counter…or even counters plural!

This is the latest in a weekly post of residential architecture inspiration. If you want to see past weeks, you can go here. If you want to see them curated on my pinterest (sometimes before they even hit the blog), go here.

This kitchen is the perfect mix of moody and chic with a dash of industrial. I love the mixing of kitchen counter styles on the island. I can’t tell, but it appears the wood is a butcher block function – and I’m pretty sure those stools are what we had in architecture school!

So cute and minimal. I love the wood kitchen counter to give some warmth to this white kitchen. Obviously European by a variety of clues, but it also looks like IKEA. It’s always nice to see how those products look when lived in/with.

While this kitchen has a small footprint, the mix of white and the wood kitchen counter make the space feel bright and much bigger than it actually is. The waterfall edge is a nice, elegant touch to offset the white vertical surfaces.

Oh man this kitchen. Those high ceilings. The minimal kitchen counter. The expansive windows. Love it…all of it.

The kitchen counter (quartz? marble?) here is a gorgeous change of pace from the white surfaces, but not so much a contrast that it feels out of place. The windows inset at the sink gave space for a built-in herb garden too! There are some other fantastic pictures of this kitchen – just click on the image for more.

The light in this kitchen is just fantastic. The coffered ceiling gives it volume, the marble kitchen counter bounces the light deeper into the space, and all of those windows…swoon.
